My Favorite Time of Year

Today is the best day of the year. It’s the day my daughter goes back to school!! Everyone join me in a dance. OK, you can stop dancing. I’m not a bad mom, I’m also not a perfect mom, but I love sending my kid to school. My daughter is a very well behaved angel of a child. HAH! If you believe that I’ll let you buy her, real cheap.

Samantha isn’t all bad. She plays well alone, she’s smart, and at times she even obeys. Sam isn’t running around skinning cats or blowing up mailboxes, no she’s the constant interrogator. “Mom, I just heard you say something what did you say?” “Mom, why are you…?” “Mom, how come…?” Mom, what is…?” And if I say, “I don’t know.” She thinks I’m lying to her. “Mom, just tell me.”

The single greatest thing about this country is the state sponsored day care.  Stop pursing your lips at me. It will only give you wrinkles. Look, I work from home. That is not code for “I don’t work at all”. I have an actual job where I am required to complete certain tasks by a definite deadline. I do not have the time to find out why monkeys have hair and lizards don't. I am grateful to the teachers who are responsible for my child every day. Without them I’d be in jail for human trafficking. What? Don’t tell me you’ve never listed your kid on Craigslist.

  1. LMAO!!! As a daycare provider and home schooler, I am the exact opposite, but I so completely understand where you're coming from. I did the happy dance with you. Have a great day and thanks for making me smile. :)

  2. I just read your blog aloud to hubby, and when I read the last line, he replied, "No. We didn't have Craigslist when our kids were little." : - ) So, yeah....

  3. So did you have to pay for an ad in the classifieds?
